Electrical Apprentice Support
Electrical Apprentice Support
Hi, my name is Carl
I commenced my Electrical Engineering career with a 4 year fully indentured Electrical Engineering apprenticeship with the then NCB (National Coal Board)
On successful completion of this, plus academic study and practical tests, I worked in the deep mined Coal industry for 30 years, as craftsman, supervisor, shift charge Engineer and Deputy Unit Electrical Engineer - this was a high hazard / risk potentially explosive atmosphere workplace, heavily regulated by HSE HID, under ATEX law and a whole plethora of other statutory regulation
I left mining in 2008 and have worked in HV/LV T&D & power generation sectors since, as Projects Manager, Senior Projects Manager and Projects Director
I have worked in the Nuclear sector and on many prestigious projects such as London Gateway, Protos and installed many diesel, gas, AD and BESS National Grid support generation plants on EPC contracts, both as PC and sub-contractor
I am passionate about Engineering standards and quality as well as H&S
I am a registered IET Engineering Mentor and Industry Representative
I gained I.Eng professional registration with EngC 20 years ago and am currently working towards C.Eng registration
I love Engineering applied mathematics and continually upgrade my knowledge of all things STEM
