Electrical Apprentice Support
Electrical Apprentice Support

After a question I asked on Instagram back in 2021 I had the brain wave of creating a space we could use to support learners, training providers and employers.
With the 5 key principles :-
Late 2022 we finally started the build phase one after some struggles finding suitable space! We are now at a stage we have 6 booths in place with systems such as Three phase commercial, EV, Renewables, domestic and BMS/Panel board.
We also have a solar roof system in place.
We are also working with training providers around the UK to support those struggling with employment during training. Alongside offering some free training to those badly effected by rogue trainers. Filling in gaps for things like 2382 wiring regulations and 2391 inspection and testing courses.
So while we have our own limited space we have a network that can help people around the UK.
I very nearly did not bring this forward having had criticism from existing trainers for providing free training. Supposedly devaluing what an apprenticeship or retrainee route is worth. Putting something in place that would eventually burn through funds while free. It was quite the inquest to a business model those individuals had no knowledge. I dont think others faced the same level of critique that is for sure. However on reflection it was individuals linked to a single training provider and the overwhelming response was very positive. Such is life!
Alongside this we are working with industry to strengthen opportunities for employment of both full time apprentices and those on full time/retrainee courses. Both NET and TESP are working really hard to help bring something forward in this aim during 2023.
I am proud to have brought this into life and excited to try and offer something of value to those in training to become electricians and those in the trade already.
Thanks to incredible support from IMD, Proteus, Tamlex, Centaur, ElectricalOM, Super Rod, Klein, Conrad energy, Schneider and my advert revenue we have managed to bring this into fruition and secure for the long term.
The next steps are city and guilds registration ourselves so we can provide certification and training. Something that will be another huge learning curve for me.
Going through this has given me even more admiration and respect for existing trainers and training providers. I am excited to work alongside them and people throughout industry to effect positive change in the training landscape. Supporting electricians with high quality training and long term career prospects.
Huge thanks to everyone for the continued support and check out some of the content I have already shared from A121 HQ below!
